Sonakshi Sinha - Debutante Of The Year 2010

If you were to search for the Debutante Of The Year 2010, there would be only one name on your lips seeing the success of Dabangg - Sonakshi Sinha. The beautiful daughter of Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha entered the world of limelight & glamour with the home production company of Arbaaz Khan & family starring opposite Salman Khan. Dabangg was released on the day of Eid in India and measured huge success. As a masala film Dabangg had everything - item song, glamour, action & dialogues.

Though, Sonakshi being a family girl didn't make a glamourous entry, the item song Munni Badnaam Hui went into the hands of Malaika Arora but her dialogue 'Thappad Se Dar Nahin Lagta Sahab, Pyaar Se Lagta Hai' (I'm not afraid of being slapped sir, love is more painful) made her more famous just like 'Khamosh' (Silent) for her father Shatrughan Sinha. Sonakshi appeared in an almost backless blouse in one of the song sequences and avoid exposure in the masala film.

Sonakshi Sinha appeared in songs such as 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Mere Dil Ka Le Gaye Chain' & 'Chori Kiya Re Jiya, Mere Piya' and left her presence noticed though many people have questioned her acting skills. Dabangg's (and Sonakshi Sinha's) success could well be conveyed from the very fact that the movie is being shown for two times in a span of 2 months on the Colors TV channel in India on which Salman Khan is hosting the Bigg Boss show.

It's said that Sonakshi Sinha had quite weight when Arbaaz Khan saw her while he was preparing a base for the film. At that time Arbaaz had told Salman that Shatrughan Sinha's daughter is going to be the Rajo of Dabangg. And the Sinha family also didn't mind making their daughter doing a debut in Bollywood since Dabangg was a family production and Arbaaz approached with his family.

Dabangg gave Sonakshi Sinha a platform and since then she has been featured on magazine covers, ramp shows, photoshoots and national television programs. Sonakshi recently got on the covers of the Maxim magazine. She has got offers for Dabangg 2 (sequel), Joker and Race 2. In every sense Sonakshi Sinha can well be regarded as the Bollywood Debutante Of The Year 2010.
